TEAM hosted a Bat Workshop in DC from May 30-June 3, 2007. The workshop explored the possibility of the TEAM Network adding bats to their complement of monitored taxa. The workshop assembled experts in bat surveying and monitoring techniques to explore and develop protocols that TEAM could use for bat monitoring. Specifically the aims of the workshop were as follows:
1) Understand what TEAM could accomplish by monitoring bats in relation to their mission.
2) Evaluate the strengths and weakness of different potential protocols from a scientific, feasibility and financial perspective.
3) Recommend protocols for possible implementation by TEAM for monitoring bats.
