Welcome to Liza Veiga, new Site Manager for the Caxiuana TEAM Site

Please join us in welcoming Liza Veiga, the new Site Manager for the Caxiuana TEAM Site. Liza is a business economist and brings a background in logistics and business planning from nine years within a wide range of British organizations. She has knowledge of, and skills in planning and implementing business projects, monitoring their progression and results and managing resources and staff. She has a Masters degree in the Management and Conservation of Natural Resources and in 2001 started working with Amazonian primates. For her doctorate, she studied the ecology and behaviour of the threatened black bearded saki (Chiropotes satanas, pitheciine) in the fragmented landscape of Tucurui Reservoir in Brazil. She is currently co-organising a volume on the Evolutionary History, Ecology and Conservation of the Pitheciines (sakis, bearded sakis, uacaris and titi monkeys) and establishing the Pitheciine Action Group (PAG) to unite pitheciine researchers and help promote the conservation this unusual group of primates.
