It is a pleasure to share with you this recent Costa Rica TEAM paper about a survey on experiences using local technicians in tropical field research (La Selva´s case study). An article based on the results of this survey is now on-line at Revista de Biological Tropical (Dec 2011), and we attach a copy of the pdf.

We believe these results show the inclusion of local technicians in tropical field biology can be a substantial win-win for both the researchers and the local residents, at least in the case of literate technicians in a socially and politically stable country as Costa rica.
