Year:
2017
Quarter:
January - March
Protocol Activities:

Funding
Funds amounting to $37,700 were made available to ITFC for TEAM in this quarter.

Vegetation plots
Re- measurement of the 6 plots was started and completed.  A total 3470 stems were measured including 44 recruits. The trees were re-measured, tagged, mapped and identified to species level. The data for the plots is being entered into a spreadsheet and will be uploaded on the TEAM portal before the end of April 2016.

In plot 4 we found two stems in our plot had been cut down and taken.  The trees were dried with some little life in them and still standing we suspect they were cut down for firewood. Trees are; pleiocarpa pycnantha stem number 16 and chrysophyllum albidum stem number 19.

Climate station
All climate data and maintenance logs were uploaded on to the TEAM portal. Bi-weekly maintenance of the climate station has been carried out in accordance with the protocol
Camera traps
There was no camera trapping activity.  Camera trapping activity is scheduled for the beginning of May 2017.
Scheduler
The vegetation protocol started late because the funds came late. We notified CI of the change in the scheduler.
Uganda Wildlife Authority staff
We are sharing credit with UWA in all formal arrangements including data collection and sharing. Two UWA rangers continue to participate on all TEAM activities.

Schedule Problems:

Re-measurement of the plots was delayed because of the delay in funds. The vegetation data was collected from 20 Jan -14 March 2017 instead of 20 November 2016 - 15 February 2017. This was however communicated to the TEAM technical director. We are currently on track with the rest of  the activities.
