Communications activities: 

Emanuel H. Martin, former TEAM site Manager for Udzungwa has now moved to take a lectureship job with the College of African Wildlife Management Mweka in Moshi. His position has now been replaced by Mr. Arafat Mtui, a former UEMC Coordinator. Mr Mtui has just successfully completed his undergraduate studies with the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka - Moshi.

In addition, Trento Museum of Science – MUSE in collaboration with Trento University both from Italy and University of Copenhagen from Denmark conducted a third summer school training in Udzungwa on Field and GIS Tools for assessing, monitoring and mapping of tropical rainforest biodiversity. This training with over 17 students was attended by both local and international participants of which they had a chance of being briefed about TEAM project activities in Udzungwa and also partake in some activities related on how to set camera traps and analyze data from camera traps (see attached photo).

Also Mr. Emanuel Martin attended 27th International Congress for Conservation Biology in Montipellier from 2nd to 6th of August 2015, of which he did a poster presentation titled Finescale habitat association of medium to large sized forest mammals in Udzungwa Mountains by using camera traps (See the attached photo).

Unusual Events at the TEAM Site: 


New Species: 


Protocol Activities: 

During a period of July to September 2015, a total of 40 camera traps were deployed whereby over 15,000 images were captured. Also Climate protocol continued to be implemented as usual.

Protocol Problems: 

One of the camera traps at CT-1-02 did not perform well due to low power batteries
