Udzungwa (07.01.2017 to 09.30.2017)You are here![]() Year: 2017 Quarter: July - September Communications activities: Mr. Arafat Mtui, the TEAM Site Manager had a chance to attend workshop on African Primatological Society held in Ivory Coast on 24th – 27th July, 2017. (See attached photos). Various matters were discussed including Red Colobus Action Plan which was done on 29th July at the same venue. Unusual Events at the TEAM Site: None New Species: None Protocol Activities: A total of 40 camera traps were deployed in this quarter, and all weather data were successfully collected in this quarter. Protocol Problems: Camera No. 16 (CT-UDZ-01-16) of Array one, had a problem on flash light at night. The pictures taken at night was blank. Although the same camera used in Array two, it did functioning well. Schedule Problems: Due to shortage of park rangers to accompany field crew, field trip had to be rescheduled, because it is not recommended to go to the field without an armed ranger for security purposes. Logistical Problems: Agrey Uisso had got an accident in the field. During the hiking in the forest for camera removal (Array two), he fall on the big rock, hit his face and got wounded. Field Assistants had to rescue and bring him down for first aid and further medical attendance. He is now doing well and ready to proceed for Array three next week. Suggestions: None |
