Vegetation Protocol:

During the period April–June 2012 we prepared the schedule for re-measuring the six permanent vegetation plots. The re-measurement is scheduled to begin on July 4, 2012, with the two most distant plots, YAN VG-05 and YAN VG-06.

During this period as well, Rodolfo Vásquez and Luis Valenzuela worked on determination of plant collections made in and around the plots in the previous reporting periods.

Terrestrial Vertebrate Protocol:

During this period we prepared the schedule for placement of the camera traps, beginning with placement of Array 1 on July 4, 2012.

Climate Protocol:

When we visited the meteorological station each month, we cleaned up the weeds growing inside and outside the station. The station began operating in mid-March, and we conducted the first data collection on May 11 and the second on June 20. It is not always possible to reach the station on the scheduled date when river conditions prevent us from navigating the Río Iscozacín.

During our June visit, we carried out the routine change of the datalogger.

We have uploaded the recent photos from the station, and the data are already on the Web, but there are some difficulties that we will indicate below.

The climate information has been uploaded into the TEAM Data Management Tool, but we have had difficulties in changing the status of each sensor from “Ready to Use” to “Install.” Therefore, the data are not visible online.
