Climate Protocol:

We have continued to visit the station to collect the climate data, but we have encountered problems that are described below.

During our visits we checked the fences and the station, making sure that all the sensors and power supply were in good working condition. We also cleaned the site from overgrown weeds.

Protocol Problems:

Vegetation Protocol:

None

Terrestrial Vertebrate Protocol:

As indicated in previous reports, we keep the camera traps in airtight plastic containers with silica gel, and every two months we check them to verify their proper operation, and at the same time change the silica gel. As already mentioned, there is a group of cameras that do not work correctly because the screens do not display the functions, making it impossible to change the settings.

Climate Protocol:

In March some sensors began to fail and by May the datalogger was not recognizing any of the sensors. All details of the malfunction of the station were informed promptly to the TEAM managers. In June we visited the station three times to try to make adjustments to the contact pins and to re-install the program, but without success. Finally we consulted with a local technician who suggested that we unmount the datalogger and take it to a city near Oxapampa to test it. At this time, we are awaiting the results of the tests.
