The Tropical Ecology, Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) Initiative is working in partnership with the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.

In November, 2000 the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation was created with a multibillion-dollar contribution from its founders. The mission of the Foundation is to seek and develop outcome-based projects that will improve the quality of life for future generations.

The Moore Foundation has organized the majority of its grantmaking around large-scale initiatives that concentrate on issues the Foundation is actively pursuing, such as the Environment, Higher Education, Science, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Each initiative includes a portfolio of grants.

The Moore Foundation encourages and supports collaboration among the grantees involved in their initiatives in order to achieve the most significant and enduring outcomes possible. The Foundation also seeks to collaborate with other foundations and interested organizations to attain these outcomes. The information derived from their collective work will be made available to all who are interested via our website and by other means.
